The Grasshoppers are female pilots who meet monthly for fun, food, fellowship and proficiency. No business is conducted at our meetings; we’re a purely social club, though occasionally we'll have a guest speaker or tour.
Our members are from all over Florida. Each month a different volunteer member arranges for a fly-in and lunch at an on-airport restaurant or one nearby, "Dutch treat." Sometimes we fly into airparks and/or meet in a member's home. What a great way to meet other pilots and discover new destinations! We've been flying and meeting since 1961!!!
While we are predominantly a women’s club, men are welcome, too. Member designations are:
- Grasshopper: Fabulous Female Florida Flyer
- Locust: Beloved of a Grasshopper
- Cricket: Independent Male Member
- Nymph: Beloved of a Cricket
Dues are only $15 a year for Grasshoppers and Crickets, and adding your beloved is an additional $5. That covers the costs of providing you a yearly membership directory, a monthly newsletter, a monthly email reminder of upcoming events, and this website.
